The distinctive black and white drawings of Fiona’s aunt, Glasgow Jewish Artist Hannah Frank (1908-2008), have been on show in 6 galleries in Brazil since Dec 2023, beside the work of Brazilian artist and engraver Artur Soar. Artur was inspired by Hannah Frank’s art while staying in Fiona’s Lancaster home in December 2023 as part of a UK art residency. He produced an engraving in Hannah’s honour – and the rest is history! We will meet Artur, visit some of the galleries where Hannah’s art was shown, and find out about how her art has been viewed by a Brazilian audience. We will also feature the [new deleted] recently opened permanent exhibition honouring Hannah Frank’s life and work at the Glasgow care home where she spent her last days.
